I was profoundly disappointed in this documentary about the West Memphis Three and the grisly murders of 3 children.
A few years ago - HBO Films released Paradise Lost which detailed the murders and interviewed the alleged murderers in a small Arkansas town.
Paradise Lost II is the follow up to the original with more interviews with the killers in prison. There has been a lot of interest stirred up in the case due to the HBO special. This part II is a bunch of people (support group) who saw the original and decided that the killers were innocent.
How stupid is that to get all up in arms about something you know nothing about? The people who were causing the disturbance and insisting the killers are innocent reminded me of nerds at a Star Trek convention. They have nothing to do with the case except they saw a movie on it. They naively try to prove that the killers are innocent by talking to some very dumb and ill informed "lawyers".
It was sad to see how desperate some people live in the beautiful state of Arkansas. The father of one of the victims is basically retarded and is very strange. His overacting and self awareness of his movie presence was annoying. It was emotionally tough dealing with people who are borderline retarded and charged with crimes.
I didn't get the point of this film, missed it entirely and it was 146 minutes long. It was preachy, arrogant and just plain stupid.
