Pros: Rod Steiger's performance. Very interesting story subtly told      Cons: the score, some characters are more type than not      The Bottom Line: I've not seen a performance like the one Mr. Steiger has done in ages. This is one of only a few films in which there are certain scenes which, for various reasons, I find almost unbearable to watch again.
