This is the kind of stilted, overproduced, derivative tripe that frat boys consider innovative when they watch it on a double bill with The Matrix. Both Vin Diesel and Radha Mitchell are embodiments of anti-presence. Every time he opens his mouth to deliver another wooden line, the weight of his screen lead doubles.
In my opinion, there can't be enough scary space creature movies! I love the genre, and Pitch Black will not disappoint you. The action starts right at the beginning, with a truly spectacular crash scene. There is a convict on board who escapes, survivors stumbling around trying to figure out what to do, the bounty hunter who wants to find the convict, and the pilot with a chip on her shoulder because of a bad decision she made trying to bring the ship in.
