Something very interesting about the images of the empty birdcage and the bars in front of her. Seems to be a symbol for her imprisonment within a sexist society that views her as being beautiful like a bird, but refuses to believe that there's anything beyond that beauty, that it's hollow, which would explain why the birdcages are empty.

nice catch. This movie is heavy with imagery and Korean directors do love their symbolisms and metaphors. You are good! You need to watch and review these type of movies along with me.
