A terrific horror story is buried under a mountain of genre clichés, pointless flashbacks and bad CGI, and Hiroshi Mikami's whiny, ham-skulled performance doesn't help matters. This manga adaptation may be a first: a Japanese horror film that could be bettered by a remake!

There have been many entries of J-horror ever since the success of "Ringu" in the U.S., not to mention an overabundance of Asian horror remakes.
