* out of ****      "Pulse", also known as "Kairo", was a nice, creepy Japanese horror film that made its U.S. debut in 2005 and has since garnered somewhat of a cult following. Don't get me wrong; it's a good movie, and it got some solid praise, but the fans love it the most and boy do they know it. I also assume that they will be the first out of many to be pissed off when it comes to the film's American remake, which is about as bad as every other recent J-horror remake. It …

This was probably the worst horror film I have seen in quite a number of years. Besides being a rip-off of the movie series where people rent a video tape and die, the picture was dark throughout, the plot was very difficult to follow and it was difficult to figure out what you were seeing on the screen most of the time.       The special effects looks something that any amateur could produce with a camcorder. The ending was ridiculous and what appeared to be a talented young …

Ghosts, or ethereal dead are always there-- but unseen until humans unwittingly open up the extra bandwidth and let them in.    There was a Twilight-zone/Outer Limits quality to the concept. The problem was that I did not care about the characters. No build-up, no history, no emotional hook. Nothing. First college kid gets killed/sucked dry? and then we're listening to another bunch of zero-personality college brats try and give us a sense of angst over the strange goings on. …

I saw PULSE (the "unrated" version) just 5 days ago, and I feel even now that I can hardly remember half of what happened in the film...so generic and uninteresting did it turn out to be.     The film has a promising premise. Ghosts are using the internet to enter into our world, because they operate on a frequency that we've now been able to tune in to. I like that...it's a clean, simple concept that could have gone in a million directions. In PULSE, at least initially, it appears …

For a film named "Pulse" and utilizing high-speed communications and modern technology as the catalyst for terror, this movie sure is a snoozer. Let's face it folks, cellphones, computers, etc. are sure fun to mess with on your own, but they are downright boring to watch someone else use them in a film. In "Pulse," deadly, ghost-like beings have somehow figured out how to cross into our world via the internet, cellphones, etc. When they make it to our side of the web, they suck the will to live …

Imagine our wireless technologies made a connection to a world beyond our own. Imagine that world used that technology as a doorway into ours. Now, imagine the connection we made can't be shut down. When you turn on your cell phone or log on to your e-mail, they'll get in, you'll be infected and they'll be able to take from you what they don't have anymore -- life. Pulse is really not a bad movie it is a decent flick. Like most teen Horrors minus the blood and gore.    The plot …
