Not just a rip-off 'Vacation' movie

At first glimpse, this movie will appear to be a lot like the Chevy Chase 'Vacation' movies. Well, it is and it isn't. Although it follows the same theme of a family on a disastrous vacation, it is unique enough to stand on its own. Condo on Wheels Takes Too Many Familiar and Irritating Detours

'RV' has plenty of big laughs and sight gags. And it's a good thing for 'RV' that Robin Williams is in the driver's seat. If not we'd have to put up with more than "Are we there, yet?" from his two bratty teenage kids, even if his wife, Jamie (Cheryl Hines), is a sweet, yet nagging presence. A Mild Family Excursion

With Robin Williams playing the patriarch of the Munro clan, and his wife being played by wonderful comedic actress, Cheryl Hines, not to mention comedy hitmaker, Barry Sonnenfield at the helm, you'd think that "RV" would be a really funny film.
