Something very scary occured to me as I watched this movie.  The worlds dumbest cops are called upon to keep order cause all the other cops are incapacitated.  Should the day ever come that 8 dimwits with badges are going to be keeping me safe, I think I'll dig a hole and hide for a while.      Reno 911! Those wacky law enforcers who would make the Keystone Cops jealous go to Miami for a convention only to be the only law enforcement in town. Largely aimed at fans of the Comedy Central series, but it's open ended enough to show that the casual viewer won't be lost.

If there's nothing else a movie studio loves, it's a concept with a pre-existing audience. It's for that reason that multiplexes are forever jammed with sequels, adaptations of novels, remakes, and movies based on old TV shows, videogames and toys. And, of course, what has more of a built-in audience than taking the cast of a current TV series and giving them their own movie?
