Room 6

Pros: bunch of bunnies in the buff

Cons: beginning, end, middle, actors, story and on and on and on

The Bottom Line:
“'Relax,' said the night man,
'We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!'“

Seriously, if this woman would have screamed one more time I would have ripped out her larynx with my bare hands. The one really good thing about this movie is the ending … had it only happened at the beginning, I would have been pleased. Instead we are treated to a grueling 94 minutes of Christine Taylor screaming.

Let’s start at the beginning … hello? Girlfriend the man is on his knees in the bathroom with a ring and you walk away? WTF? Then to make matters worse, he hobbles down the hall after you, on his frigging knees, and still all you can mutter is ‘I’m going to be late for class’. What a heartless biotch. Come on, they’ve been together for four years, can’t she cut the guy a break? Sure she does, she tells him to pick her up after school and they will continue where they left off. Slacker.

But, idiot that he is, he is waiting there to pick her up and they continue on their merry way until he leans over to collect a smooch. Smooching & driving, bad idea. Naturally there is a wreck, he’s badly injured, she’s fine. The other vehicle; male driver is fine, female passenger, his sister, is badly injured. Lights, camera, action … here comes the ambulances and off go the injured to … ? They aren’t told and after a rather cheesy day of pretending to look for them the two uninjured passengers return to their respective homes.

She’s probably figuring he left the ring at home and she can go hock it.

The next day they meet up and go to the police but are treated less than kind. After this she decides she will just go home and wait til he hears from him [probably still trying to find that ring] and the other guy decides he will return to ‘the South’, which is supposed to indicate I guess that he is from out of town. I mean, really, wouldn’t you be slightly more concerned than this? Of course you would if you were human but it appears he isn’t.

In fact, Amy [still without the ring], finds herself surrounded by non-humans. Couple this with the little girl in her class that has messages for her, weird little psychic nub that she is, about St. Rosemary’s Hospital and her beloved, Nick, from the accident and the scuffed knees from trying to propose on tile floor.

Enter Room 6.

St. Rosemary’s Hospital doesn’t exist. Used to, don’t now. Burned down over 50 years ago with all the docs and nurses inside. Seems they set the fire I guess then just sat down and waited to die. Now it’s the proverbial Hotel California and has become Amy’s job to rescue her Nick.

Beat me over the head and call me Betty, this is the worst movie I’ve seen in ever so long. Acting gets a negative 10, scenery negative 10, story negative 10, in fact the only thing that was decent about this movie on a very low and minor level was the shape shifting on the faces.

Stars Christine Taylor as Amy, Shane Brolly as Nick, Jerry O’Connell as Lucas, Mary Pat Gleason as one scary nurse, and several ex-Playboy bunnies as the other nurses [seriously, I’m not making that up, it said so on IMDB]. Directed by Michael Hurst, don’t hold your breath for awards. It didn’t show a rating but I’d give it an R for blood, gore, and nudity. Yep, them bunnies get buff. Life is good.
