Based on the hype, I was expecting something bigger than the Indiana Jones movies. What this film lacked, was a character as dynamic as Indiana Jones and a plausible storyline. Also, it appeared that this movie was filmed in black and white and then colorized (to give it an old movie feel). I think it might have been better if they just stuck to black and white (I hate the look of colorized movies).       There were a lot of good special effects, such as when Gwyenneth Paltrow …

"Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" is loud, noisy, silly, unbelievably ridiculous, and it's one of the most fun experiences I've had watching a movie in the past six months! This is a movie that whisks the audience off into a long forgotten era of filmmaking that I for one am grateful to see it put back on screen with the advancements of today's technology. I was really surprised how much I loved this movie! Not to ruin it for the fans, but I'm not even a fan of Gwyneth, Jude and Angelina yet I absolutely adored this fantasy tale that was beyond my expectations as they were all superb in it.    Sure I saw the trailer in theatres back in 2004 and it did cross my mind to see it one day and I can't say how glad I am that I did. This was a real adventure with this incredibly foggy and drawn on atmosphere of old 1930 with the curled …

In Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, Director Kerry Conran uses CGI to take us back to the film world of 1939, modeling the action, plot and techology after the Grade B flicks of the time. Pros: Good Idea     Cons: Wooden Acting, Dull FX, weak script.     The Bottom Line: An interesting idea that is lost amidst a bad script and wooden perfomances.     Harkening back to the days of episodic serials, “Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow” attempts to blend the thrills of the old adventure films and serials with the high tech computer effects of the modern age.      The film stars Gwyneth Paltrow …
