I love Ingmar Bergman movies and find his stories and filming to be quite magical. Some of his most memorable films are Smiles of a Summer Night - The Seventh Seal - Through a Glass Darkly - Winter Light - The Silence - Persona - many tend to think that all his films are doom and gloom depression and psychological angst, while he certainly has made many films like that he has also made comedies like the quite farsical All these Women.
But my all time favorite Ingmar Bergman film is Fanny and Alexander, in that film all his ideas and themes come together to create a fantastic whole. Strong story full of interesting characters, marvelous blend of suspense and humour and profound look at humans.
