Originality Elevates Some Spectacular Visuals

It all started with Madagascar; it being America's love affair with penguins. Then came Farce of the Penguins, Happy Feet, and now Surf's Up. Not as zany as Happy Feet, but with more depth of story than Madagascar, this is probably the most balanced of all the penguin comedies. The story is a classic sports story, along the same thread as The Mighty Ducks, The Sandlot, and The Natural. It has good guys and bad guys. Watching the previews for `Surf's Up,' I sighed. After watching `The March of the Penguins' March of the Penguins (Widescreen Edition) and `Happy Feet' Happy Feet (Full Screen Edition) I thought I'd been all penguin-ed out. I mean how much could they do with the novelty of having penguins surfing? The film wasn't what I was expecting--a good thing.
