Predictable, but not terrible.

I finally got around to seeing this movie this weekend since it's out on DVD now. I didn't really have too high of expectations but was curious to see how the guy from the new Star Wars movies (sorry but that's all I'll ever think of him as) and the hip hop artists (T.I. and Chris Brown)  would do in their roles.

What the movie had:
  • The movie had a few really cool action scenes involving explosions, gunfire and on-foot chasing.
  • Notables from the Hip Hop game.
What the movie lacked:
  • There wasn't too much of a plot and it was pretty basic and easy to follow.
  • Acting, the script didn't call for too much of it.
  • Character depth.
So to build on the last point, you're basically rooting for the bad guys or "takers" as they call themselves, since they're pretty much thieves, but I didn't really feel connected to the characters. Sure some bad things happen to them but I just really felt like saying to them, 'it's your own fault'.

Paul Walker is one of the main characters but I felt as though the movie would have been unaffected if he showed up in the beginning and never made another appearance.

Recommendation:
Worth the $1 renting from the Redbox.
