Definitiely one of Argento's best thrillers.

**** out of **** "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage" was the directorial debut of the great Dario Argento; a filmmaker from Italy who primarily enjoyed working in the horror and thriller genres. He didn't often branch out, but he was always willing. Sam Dalmas (Tony Musante) is an American living in Italy. One day he comes across the near slaying of a woman named Julia (Suzy Kendall).
