Jim picks his girlfriend Grace up from college to go on break. Grace is taking Jim to meet her parents cause things are starting to get serious between them. As there driving down a rainy wet dark road they see a man with stranded on the road next to his broken down car. Good for them they were smart and just kept on driving. Luckily for the man Jim and Grace stopped at a gas station up a bit further and he catches up with them. He asks for a ride and off they go on one of the most regrettable trips in their lives.

First the story has no type of buildup or suspense; it just throws you right into the plot as soon as possible. No wait I forgot that it does have a 10-minute song to show credits as if the movie is something special. Then the movie throws a good cast in the trash with a bad script. I don't understand how you're given this movie that will need the attention of a great writer to slow it down and make it scary. Because there on open road there really isn't that much for "Bean" to do so you find things to make it suspenseful. They couldn't even do that they just turned it into a gigantic shootout with Bean doing most of the shooting and his bullets were the only ones hitting.

Ok so the Hitcher is a remake and I've never seen the original but this one is very bad. It's too fake and even people that saw it and liked have to admit how unbelievable the film is. How can the hitcher do these crazy things and even take out helicopters. Also the two kids basically went through everything from gunfire to explosions but the both of them had barley any marks or even dirt on them. Grace jumps out of a truck that blew up squeaky clean like it never happened. The acting was pretty cool especially by Sean Bean but there were just too many things that weren't possible like him taking out entire police forces with a handgun and a thunderbird. I don't think I can recommend this one to anyone cause it's just too out there. The acting by Bean is the only good thing but if you're willing to take a chance go ahead.
