Killer Elite is a film that Sam Peckinpah directed because his wallet was a little light. A no nothing project that starred James Caan and Robert Duvall. They play a pair of secret agents who are on a dangerous assignment, But Duvall goes rogue and tries to take out his partner. Instead of killing him,. he cripples him so he'll retire from the business. Whilst lying in a hospital bed, he's filled with rage at his former friend and colleague.
Using his betrayal as a motivational tool, he recuperated and tries to get to his old form. Word has it that Duvall has gotten big britches and is running some clandestine operation in country. Will Caan get out of that hospital bed and take his old buddy out? Who will he trust? How can he even get close to him? To find out you'll just have to watch THE KILLER ELITE.
The film's pretty good, But the studio post editing to try get this film a P.G. rating ruined what could have been an ultra violent action film. Maybe one day they'll release this film in it's original form, filled with red blood squibs and bone crunching action. Until then, this film's okay.
