I think, by now, that I have established that I am a huge Peter Sellers fan. I love his timing, his deadpanning and his comedic brilliance. I loved THE MOUSE THAT ROARED. This film is just as good, but in a completely different way. Imagine if you were the wealtiest man in the world. Now, imagine that you use all that money primarly to make fools of your fellow man. That's the premise of this film. Peter Sellers plays that wealthy man. Ringo Starr, in his first appearane after the Beatles broke up, plays a down and out homeless soul who is "adopted" by Peter Sellers and fits right in to Seller's plans. The Magic Christian is a very exclusive luxury liner that Sellers "buys" tickets for, even though no tickets exist. If you don't like satire and sarcasm, perhaps you should stay away from this movie. On the other hand, if you do like satire and sarcasm, then this is the movie for you. Also, for all you 60s British Invasion buffs, the main theme for the music of this film is Badfinger's COME AND GET IT, and I will NOT tell you how this song is used. You NEED to see the ending for yourself. I didn't know whether to laugh or throw up. Literally. This is another of my all time favorite movies, which I guess tells you a lot about my character.

I remember that scene all too well! I guess technically CANDY which was made in 1968 was made while The Beatles were still "together".

I didn't know whether to laugh or vomit during that last scene. I finally decided to laugh. Yeah, the Beatles were still at least working together in 1968
Great movie! Haven't thought about it for years. Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the comment. I haven't thought about this movie for years, either, and then I found a DVD of MOUSE THAT ROARED, which started me on Peter Sellers. I have had this on DVD for several years, but I watched it again for the review.
