This is a truly underrated piece of film, and in my opinion, one of Dreamworks' best, if not their best, piece of work. Some have compared it to the far earlier movie The Ten Commandments, and in some senses, yeah it's true. But, Prince of Egypt is not telling the exact same story as Ten Commandments, so it's not a straight-up unabashed remake of Ten Commandments.      I absolutely love everything done in this movie, I love how it's so visual, and even the songs …

It might have a couple of songs too many but a faithful and beautiful retelling of the story of Moses and Rameses is brilliant and the story doesn't pull it's punches.

The story of Moses is a compelling one. "The Prince of Egypt" manages to meld that story into a very easily digested tale for the whole family. Though some liberties are taken, "Prince" keeps the basic elements of this wonderful tale intact. The only truly noteworthy changes are that Moses confronts Pharoah instead of his biological brother, Aaron, doing most of the talking and Moses and Ramses are raised as brothers by the Pharoah. "The Prince of Egypt" is a great movie that my daughter also enjoys. The beautifully animated has a great story and storytelling, beautiful songs and a great voice cast. My daughter also has the soundtrack to this.    This is one of the very first animated movies made for an adult mainstream audience. Still the movie has some misplaced humor and 'Disney' like characters, to make this movie appealing for children as well but really this is more a movie for adults than for children. …
