The Straight Story is a wonderful film from David Lynch, I was amazed by how well it was directed, written and acted. Richard Farnsworth puts a cap on his long career by giving the performance of his life as Alvin Straight. A complex man who hears about his brother's heart attack and is determined to visit him. But the problem is that he can't drive and he doesn't want to take a plane or a bus. He wants to make a trailer for his power mower and travel a few hundred miles to see his ailing brother. Along the way he meets fellow strangers on the road and we learn more about Alvin as he experience the modern world outside his town.

A very heart warming tale. I didn't hink David Lynch could successfully make a Disney film without making a lot of compromises. But he manages to succeed. I really enjoy this movie because the title of the film describes it perfectly.
