When you turn on the MTV today and are unable to find any music at all, it's fun to look back to simpler times when that flegling TV station actually played music videos. The Rob Reiner Rockumentary "This is Spinal Tap" captures and satires all that is horribly bad about the early 80's glam/metal scene, just as MTV was getting off the ground. Spinal Tap is a fictional aging metal group that is trying to come to terms with the fact that they really aren't very popular anymore and very few people actually care about them anymore. They go on one final disasterous tour which highlights all these points with one hilarious mishap after another.

If you are fan of movies like "Best In Show" or "A Mighty Wind", then "This is Spinal Tap" will soon become one of your all time favorites. There are so many cameo's from the likes of Paul Shafer, Fran Drescher, Dana Carvey & Billy Crystal just to name a few.
