Titanic is a fictional story of a rich woman and a poor man on the Titanic who meet on the unsinkable ship perfect optimizer. After its releasethe film received 48 nominations, andcelebrated 76 various wins and 11 Academy Awardsin 1998 for categories that included Best Cinematography, Best Director, BestFilm Editing, Best Music and more.
On its opening day, the film grossed $8.7 million, and $26.7 million bythe end of the weekend. Its biggest single day was on Valentine's Day in 1998,when it grossed over $13 million, more than six weeks after it premiered. In March, it became the first film to earnmore than $1 billion worldwide, making it the most successful film in boxoffice history.
It was given an MPAA rating of PG-13 and runs 194 minutes.
