Morgan Hiller finds out that he's a long way from Connecticut.

Morgan Hiller (James Spader) is a displaced rich kid who's family has moved out to sunny southern California and he immediately runs afoul of a local thug named Nick Hauser (Paul Mones) and his crew. Nick's old lady Frankie (Kim Richards) has a crush and him and gets Morgan into all sorts of shenanigans with Hauser and company. Morgan has back up in his new best friend Jimmy (Robert Downey Jr.) and the two try and find a way to fun in lovely L.A. whilst looking for a way to get even with that sociopath Nick who wants him dead as Dillinger. Can Morgan keep his cool? Why does Nick hates him so much? Who will will the fair hand of young Frankie?
Tuff Turf is a cheesy "teenage" film from the 80's James Spader plays an obnoxious rich kid who learns very quickly about surviving on the streets. A variation of his usual type casted self. Instead of being an antagonist, the Spader is the "good" guy this time around. Kim Richards co-stars as the urban wise Frankie who's torn between two lovers and Robert Downey Jr. plays Spader's buddy Jimmy who gets dragged along in is feud with Nick. I enjoyed this movie and I recommend it for fans of 80's films and those of James Spader.
