This movie is based on a book, however it does not seem to connect the story in the book exactly, but then again maybe that is just my distorted memory of the book that I read years before I saw the movie. I did enjoy the movie, though, however it does have some slow parts and seemingly pointless fluff to make it longer. The basic plot is about two twins meeting each other for the first time on their 21st birthday and learning that they are from another dimension. It then begins there quest together to save their original world and restore peace. I thought the special effects were pretty good for being a television movie and then DVD release. It is definitely a good family film, although it may not be appropriate for some young ones as it does have some scary moments. The DVD edition does not have all that many extras, which is kind of disappointing. They do at least have a fun alternate ending that makes the second Twitches movie seem more appropriate. They also have a decent behind the magic thing that explains some of the special effects, however it is not entirely new, as it appears that they originally were specials shorts on the Disney Channel.
