This is a great learning adventure movie for preschoolers. This is a Winnie the Pooh episode about Roo learning to count to 10 in order to bring 10 of an item to a party. In the episode Roo learns different methods of counting from different Hundred Acre Wood friends including Christopher Robin, Rabbit, and Tigger. Since it displays different methods of learning to count it helps preschoolers learn counting easier by finding a method that best suits them. The repetitiveness of counting throughout also helps along with it showing that it takes Roo several times to learn how to count, which is something many kids can relate to. In the end Roo then shows off his learning by helping Piglet count his balloons and Pooh count his honey pots for the party.
This DVD has two special features. One is a short music video of a Counting Song. The song is enjoyable for kids, although it is a little odd that it counts to 11, but it works because the way it is used to rhyme with seven making the song more memorable for kids. The other special feature is a game for kids to practice their counting skills. In the game you are asked to choose a specific amount of butterflies. There are three options to choose from. The game continues until you have netted a collection of butterflies in jars that are numbered from 1 to 10.
