Zarkorr, the tiny mall tramp and Tommy goes postal

Pros: The movie was 80 min long

Cons: The movie was 80 min long

The Bottom Line: It is just not possible to find a movie that starts with "Z"

Darn if this wasn't a painful movie but not as bad as some I've watched this weekend. The story centers around Tommy, a postal worker, standing in his kitchen watching the Cartoon Channel on TV when suddenly a tiny ball of light lands on his table. From this ball of light emerges an alien, the exact replica of a trashy teenage mall tramp. She proceeds to explain to him that he has been chosen by an intergallacit association to save the world against Zarkorr. The reason he has been chosen over all others is because he is average. No better than others and no worse than others, just average. Works for me!

He sees Eileen Wesson (QUITE a look I might add) , a professor or something - paleontologist maybe, being interviewed on TV and goes to the station to question her about this creature that has come forth in California. She, of course, thinks he is just a normal insane postal worker and tends to ignore him until he abducts her by gun and holds her hostage in the bathroom until the police arrive. He manages to convince one of the officers that his story is plausible and the policeman joins him, securing the other officer to the bathroom sink, and leaves with him and Eileen, in search of a way to destroy Zarkorr. In the meantime, Zakorr is on his way to Tommy because he has been programmed to destroy Tommy before Tommy can destroy him.

Into the picture steps Arthur (Charles Schneider II), a dweeb computer hacker, or as he likes to call himself, a cybersleuth. He is able to assimilate the conditions that brought Zakorr to Earth and tells them where to meet up with the monster in order to destroy him. They proceed to Arizona to meet up with Zarkorr. Certainly there isn't any more you want me to tell you about this movie. Frankly, I would like you to discover some of the wonder for yourself.

Sitting on the sidelines
Zarkorr was released by Monster Island Productions, and has the undertones of Godzilla. In fact, unless my ears were playing tricks, the background music that they constantly pound into your head, IS the Godzilla theme set to a faster tempo to distort it a tad. The monster itself was sort of intriguing - about 200 feet tall, spines, horns, blue glowing eyes that shoot power rays, red scaly body, great tail, good claws. Just your typical monster.

But the acting - should be a crime! There wasn't an actor in the flick you didn't want to put over a spit and roast them til they sizzled.

The lighting was terrible, the sound was horrible, the story truly blowed. All this in my quest to find a perfect "Z" movie, without resorting to the obvious like Zorro.

Written by Benjamin Carr and directed by Aaron Osborne.

Please don't!

Thanks,

Susi :(
