While Il Divo may have been the star, she is definitely the diva!
Emma Shapplin has a unique talent and vocal to awe the world and she did that for the last decade in France and then all over the world.

I've seen her perform on stage but even though she has the talent and the beauty, she definitely felt a lot more distant than many other musicians. Perhaps because she's French and perhaps because she's a diva too. Or perhaps because she was young and inexperienced when I heard her. She didn't perform as well as she did her recordings though. That I was a little disappointed.

However, in her CDs, she's magnificent. A true coloratura.
My favorite of her renditions are: Spente le Stelle & Carmine Meo from her 1st album released in 1997. Her 2nd album Etterna was released in 2002.
