I was deeply saddened by her passing, more so than any star in recent memory. What star's early passing affected you the most and why?

I would have to say John Lennon, largely because he was gunned down like that. It demonstrated one of the greatest dangers of celebrity, the crazed person that wants to make a name for themselves by killing a famous person.

EARLY passing? Hmmm...it's kinda a strange three-way tie and I guess the winner would be the closest to your definition of early passing: MJ, Kurt Cobain, and Jerry Garcia. I was saddened by MJ's death because he wasn't done yet and his life was taken from him. He had so much more love and music for the world. I was saddened by Kurt's death because I was a major Nirvana fan in HS, his Nevermind album was my first CD purchase and he was incredibly talented and funny. Jerry Garcia, I was also a deadhead in HS (yeah, I was interesting back then lol) and had been to quite a few Dead shows that were just life altering, really. I've never seen that much of a sense of community in a concert atmosphere since. It seemed, if I remember, really shocking that all of a sudden he was gone.
