I was told that this is a great series by a co-worker so I checked the video on demand last week and noted that season 1 will only be available for a short time.  I watched the first episode just to give it a chance and less than a week later I am halfway into season 2.

Cary (Clare Danes) works a lot of undercover missions for the CIA in the Middle East.  When the first episode opens she is told by an informant that a US POW has been turned by Al-Quida and is plotting an attack against the US.

Next we see a US mission where a POW is found in an Al-Quida controlled prison.  The prisoner (Brody) was a marine sargeant held from the Iraq war for 8 years and presumed dead.  And just like John McCain, he returns to the US to a hero's welcome.

Cary has her suspicions about Sargeant Brody and sets up illegal survellience in his house.  Through season 1 we are given teasers by the director as to whether or not Cary may be right as Brody tries to reconnect ot a forgotten family who thought him dead and a politcal machine that wants him to go into politics.

We learn that Cary is a loose cannon who takes mood controlling medication and was almost let go by the agency 10 years prior.  The only person who went to bat for her is her mentor Saul.  Cary is so embroiled in activities surrounding Brody that she cannot let Saul know what she is doing or she may lose her job.

Two or three episodes into the series is all it takes to hook the viewer into it.  As good as Season 1 was, season 2 is shaping up to be just as good, if not better.  Clare Danes does a tremendous job in her role and is very convincing.  I highly recommend getting the first season on Netflix if you haven't watched an episode yet but be prepared to be hooked. I know I was!

William, I didn't want to post spoilers in the review but I always feel uncomfortable with her romantic scenes with Brody. It was even worse in the second season.
