If you are in Bath, Maine, or on the coast "downeast" of Portland, take a day to see the Maine Maritime Museum. We took about 5 hours for a tour of a late 1800's boatyard, a boat trip on the Kennebec, and a visit through the museum's collection. All of this was extremely interesting primarily because of the size of the masted schooners and the amazing technical skill of the builders. All for $24 a ticket.
