Pros: holds hair in place, less sticky than other brands
Cons: Doesn't last very long, not very manly.
The Bottom Line: While the product doesn't seem as effective as the name suggests, it does provide a clean look with a decent immediate hold.
I have always been a random sort of person. It is because of this that I really don't have much brand loyalty. I typically find myself trying out a variety of different products just for the sake of doing something completely different. I do the same with most everything in my life really. I don't take the same way to work each and every day, I don't get the same items when I go to restaurants that I have been to before, and I normally try to eat at different places even though I have places that I find to be incredible. That is just how I am and it is why I try a great deal of products, especially health and beauty products.
One of the products that I tried about a month or so ago was Alberto Culver Consort Pump Hair Spray.
The Hold Personally, I didn't find the hold itself to be all that impressive and definitely nothing to brag about, but that isn't the way that they spray was designed. It was meant to hold while having a natural look and it definitely does do that. While it isn't going to be able to hold your up-do, it will definitely keep your hair from moving too much without making it stiff.
My biggest issue with the hair spray is that it really didn't last all that long. While it held my hair in the same general location, it still had enough give in it, that it would move around more and more as the day went on. It definitely didn't provide the 'extra hold' that I had expected with this particular product.
The Smell I really didn't care for the smell of the product, it was meant to be for men, but it really had more of a gender neutral smell to it, which didn't last long anyway. I did find however that the smell stuck in my skin and my girlfriend was questioning what the smell on my skin was for hours after I had applied the product. It didn't matter how much I washed my hands or face, the smell was still there. The only way that I could really get it out was with St. Ives.
The Feel While the product is said to be free of issues with being sticky, I still did find it to be sticky, although not as much as other products. There was a definite residual that was left on my forehead and on my hands that was somewhat sticky to the touch. You would definitely have to wash your hands and face after using the product.

Final Thoughts The product itself while it does hold in place for the most part, there is a bit too much slack in the hold so it allows for the hair to go wild after just a few hours. I noticed that on the more humid days here in Florida, my hair would start frizzing out really bad. But if you are looking for something to just do a general hold without too much extra, then this product will definitely do the trick, just don't expect much extra.
