To make sure I was reviewing the right product, I went to my order history and clicked through from there. My gel skin looks a bit different, though, with a strip of silicone across the front between the screen and the keypad, and was marketed by a company called CrazyOnDigital. Same product number though ...
This little jacket for my Kindle 2 is the best accessory ever. I love the way it feels; though it's not at all sticky to the touch, it gives a sure grip and stops the Kindle in its tracks on a smooth surface. It's not thick enough to add much cushioning in a fall but I'm a lot less likely to drop my Kindle now, which is good protection in its own way.
The cutouts are tidy and perfectly placed for screen, keypad, on/off switch and headphone jack, speakers, and charging socket. The skin was easy to slide on and it fits snugly; the Kindle still fits into its zipped neoprene case. I check the skin now and then to make sure it's not breaking down and sticking to the Kindle's surface but so far all is well in that regard.
I realize that skins are available in lots of colors and patterns, and maybe someday I'll be interested in dressing up my Kindle. But for now I find this translucent skin very soothing and satisfying. My Kindle is in use every day and the plain background is more "book-like" to me. Kindle + gel skin = happy reading.
