Pros: Delicious sandwiches

Cons: Just too expensive for fast food

The Bottom Line: I think I have made my last trip to Arby’s Restaurant for a while, I just can’t afford it, or more accurately, I just don’t want to afford it.

Bottom-Line: I think I have made my last trip to Arby’s Restaurant for a while, I just can’t afford it, or more accurately, I just don’t want to afford it.

Okay, I admit it I’m frugal and the rising price of almost everything has me searching far and wide for coupons to clip. So when it comes to lunch I try and keep things under $5.00; good luck with that if you pull into Arby’s Restaurant. Now don’t get me wrong I love the food that can be had at Arby’s; from their Market Fresh Sandwiches, the their seasoned Curly Fries, to their well tested and famous Roast Beef Sandwiches, Arby’s food does not taste like normal fast food fair. And who else sells a roast beef sandwich?

In addition Arby’s sells Chicken Naturals (chicken nugget). The restaurant chain also just introduced Sub sandwiches; hot and cold and Market Fresh Salads. On the side you can order Curly Fries, Home-style Fries, and Potato Cakes. You can also order Sidekickers, which include Onion Petals, Loaded Potato Bites, and Mozarella Sticks.

The chains delicious Market Fresh Sandwiches and wraps (part of the new Arby’s menu) might even qualify as healthy eating if they were not loaded with, well fat and calories. For instance the Roast Turkey Ranch Bacon Sandwich (made with oven-roasted turkey, pepper bacon, ripe tomatoes, green leaf lettuce, red onions, and cheddar cheese on thick cut honey wheat bread), clocks in at a whopping 834 calories, and 34 grams of fat! Ouch!

But all of that taste and calories comes at a price $6.99 (sandwich and medium Diet Pepsi)! And that is without fries! This explains why I do not visit Arby’s all that often; a double cheese burger, small fries, and medium coke at McDonalds will cost about $3.30, and probably has the same amount of calories and fat for less cost.

To be fair Arby’s does occasionally sell their roast beef sandwich at bargain prices; i.e. 5 Arby's melt sandwiches for $5.95. but then add five orders of curly fries and five medium drinks and…

I think I have made my last trip to Arby’s Restaurant for a while, I just can’t afford it, or more accurately, I just don’t want to afford it.
