Men in the Orient

Amos Lassen

"Bitten Peach" is an eleven story anthology about homosexuality in the Orient and we have stories arranged chronologically about men loving other men. The book covers 2,200 years and the stories are varied. The writing is excellent and authentic. The stories are steamy and erotic. The characters tend to be somewhat flat in that they are not really developed but who need to know much when reading erotica? There is a good deal of seduction that is forced but the men who are "raped" do eventually get to like it and their squealing turns to pleasure. Because of this and the stigma of rape some readers may be put off by the book. The stories, as I said, are very hot but the book needs better editing and proofing. There are some foolish mistakes such as typos and strange nicknames for parts of the male body. There is promise here however. Because the writing is so good I cannot discount the book. I can only hope that the author, Habu, will hone his skills and give us something that everyone will want to read.
