Blu-ray Disc (which is also know as BD and Blu-ray) is a type of optical disc storage that has surpassed the storage capacity of DVD.  Blu-ray is mainly used for gaming on the Playstation 3 console, for viewing BD movies and for mass data storage.  Each Blu-ray disc hold up to 50 GB's of storage.
