I selected the Bodum Bistro 34-Ounce Cordless Electric Water Kettle recently as one of my Amazon Vine review program items, knowing it would get a good workout in our home. My kids and wife are heavy tea drinkers, so having a quick way to boil water is perfect for them. After a month of use, I can say it works very well.

Simplicity rules the day here. There's just an ON button, and that's it. Fill the pot to whatever you need, press the ON button, and in just a couple of minutes you have boiling water. Given that the base detaches from the pot, you're not tied down by the cord when it comes to serving or pouring the water. Auto-shutoff means that you won't forget and boil the pot dry, either.

Compared to putting the kettle on the stove, the Bodum seems to be faster and more convenient. My son also takes it out to the garage on occasion to heat water out there, which is something he can't do otherwise. The review unit is bright red, which isn't necessarily the best color to fit in our kitchen. But that doesn't seem to be a deterrent to keeping it out and plugged in, so I guess it's not a showstopper.

While this is not a "must have" appliance in our kitchen, it's definitely a nice addition. It does what it's supposed to do, and it does it well. And if I were in a small studio apartment or dorm room setup, I think this would be an excellent way to get water heated quickly and efficiently.
