Reasonably attractive and functional design

There's certainly nothing wrong with how this folio iPad case looks: its black nylon and leather (or "PU material," I guess, whatever on earth that is) design will fit in with any of a million other office products, laptop bags, and the like. It feels sturdy, and in all eight of its propped-up "viewing angles" I haven't been worried about it falling over. And it folds up well if you want to lay your iPad flat on a table for typing, which in fact is how I'm using it right now.

So why just three stars? Another reviewer has mentioned the strong-ish chemical odor, which I hope will dissipate soon. I really wish the folio included even a small pocket I could tuck a cleaning cloth (an iPad essential as far as I'm concerned) into. And I wasn't that thrilled to notice that when you pick your iPad up while the case is open, two-thirds of the cover just dangles underneath. While I see the manufacturer notes it as a benefit that you can remove the "protective frame" from the cover "for in-hand viewing," that seems to me a concession to the fact that with this case and the fairly stiff base, your iPad will start to feel almost bulky, which is one thing an iPad should never be.

It's not a bad case, on the whole. But if you place particular importance on style, slimness, or the ability to carry other things around with you, there are probably better options for each.
