Like all Case Logic cases, the quality of the TNC-218 18-Inch Laptop case is top-notch.
Pros ---- - Roomy interior for laptops up to 18" - Large metal zippers with the Case Logic Logo - Shoulder strap with rubberized underside helps to minimize slippage - Adjustible shoulder strap - Comfortable padded handle - Generously padded velcroed flaps keep laptop securely in place - Plenty of pockets to put your DVD's, CD's, memory cards, and other computing essentials.
Cons ---- - Case cannot be opened all the way.
*NOTE* -- One of the pictures on the product page inaccurately depicts the product. It shows the case fully open with a laptop between the velcroed straps. In actuality, the case can be opened up only halfway (less than 45 degrees). Nylon "hinges" on both sides of the case prevent the case from being fully open.
The case thus prevents the velcroed flaps from opening all the way. The flaps are thus intended only as a slip pocket for your laptop. Once they are adjusted to accomodate your laptop, they're best left alone. I would have much prefered if the flaps could be opened up all the way so I can easily strap and unstrap my laptop.
- Insufficient padding on the bottom of the case
Lastly, the case is more on the large side. Even though the specs say the case is compatible with laptops with 17-18.4" screens, I would recommend this case only for 18" (or possibly larger) laptops. If your laptop is 17" or smaller, consider getting a case which is sized to fit your laptop.
--- The Caselogic TNC-218 is, all in all, a very functional laptop case. My main gripe is that the design makes it a little unwieldy to get your laptop in and out of the case.
