I really am not for ‘compressing an entire anime series’ into one film. I mean most of those things are obvious money grabs for making a quick buck. Ok, sure, “
Evangelion 1.11” and “
Evangelion: 2.22” had its merits and the original director (Hideaki Anno) sure knew what to do with his material so that new and old fans can appreciate the compression of the acclaimed anime series “Neon Genesis Evangelion“.
Please take note that this quick tip is not a reflection of how I feel about the 24 episode anime series “Fate Stay Night” which I liked because of the epic battles and decent storyline, but this is how I felt about this shameless money grab.
Well, Sentai Filmworks seems to be after an obvious money grab in releasing “Fate/ Stay Night: Unlimited Bladeworks”. I am familiar with the 24 episode anime series “Fate Stay Night” and I know how ridiculously expensive the series has become. If you think this is a new movie, or something that can help you understand the storyline of the original anime series, then you would be dead wrong.
Not sure, but this anime release seems to have compressed and put together several scenes that may prove relevant in understanding the series, or so they thought. Well, whoever put this together is so bad in editing and seriously, no one can compress 24 episodes into one 105 minute movie. It is choppy, incoherent, mindless scribble and feels more like a 105 minute trailer. Sentai should be ashamed with this release.
The graphics and the film animation have been reworked and remastered on bluray. I mean the battles looked gorgeous. But with the way it is edited, I was more annoyed than able to take in the scenes.
Wait for the real bluray release of “Fate Stay Night” and stay away from this one. Sentai did not even include a warning on the back cover to state that this is a ‘compression’. Stay away from this dreck.
