My 3.5 year old daughter LOVES watching Franklin. I love the show because there is no violence and it has topics that relate to preschoolers every day life and teaches good values. There are episodes on a new kid in town, fibbing, getting lost, persistance, growing up, etc Most recently I really liked that they included a show on one of Franklin's friends (bear) becoming a big brother seeing as my daughter will be a big sister any day now. There are many preschoolers shows that I find acceptable because they do not have any violence, bad manners, or otherwise inappropriate things in them. However many of these shows contain occasional things I would rather she not see. Kipper (Nick Jr)has been shown stacking up books and climbing on top to reach something (dangarous thing for a child to copy), on the Big Comfy Couch they show the characters stuffing things into the sofa to clean (inappropriate way to clean in my house) and the characters standing on the sofa and other such items. I have not seen an episode of Franklin though that had any disapproving behavior. All the ones that included behavior that was not appropriate concentrated on teaching why it was and how to fix it. I also believe the show even encourages diversity as none of the characters are the same animal and they all have differant talents yet all get along great. I also like that the shows are based on books. This really makes the books popular to the kids and encourages reading. I cannot think of a single bad thing to say about Franklin.
