Has what you need... skips the needless features

I have tried several GPS units over the years such as Hewlett-Packard iPAQ 310 Bluetooth 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator and the Motorola Motonav TN565T 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator and other Garmin, Magellan, and Tom-TOM units... I am happy to say that the Garmin NUvi 1350T is my absolute favorite!

One thing thing to consider is that the 1350T only comes with one (1) enhanced feature - traffic updates. However, in my opinion that is the only option that matters. I have used other units that have built-in bluetooth, but I found myself never using it. I really would prefer not to make my phone calls through my GPS. If you are looking for a great bluetooth to interface with your smart phone try this Soundfly BT Ultimate Bluetooth Car Fm Transmitter WMA/MP3 Player for SD Card, USB Charger, iPhone 4, 3Gs & 3G, iPod Touch 4G, BlackBerry, HTC HD 2, 7, EVO, DROID, Samsung Epic, Galaxy S and Bluetooth Stereo A2DP supported Devices. If you are looking for other additional features... such as ping, flight info, fuel prices and such...use a smart phone. They are better equipped than any GPS.

Pros

+I love the mounting unit. The GPS quickly and mounts and dismounts from the bracket using a ball-socket system. It works perfectly. I had no problems attaching the bracket to your windshield and having it firmly supported. As an added bonus the who mounting bracket is fairly compact, which makes it VERY nice when you are trying to fit it into to your carry-on luggage.

+ I really like the elevation setting. I know it may sound a little corny, but I liked knowing my elevation as I drove through the Blue Ridge Mountains.

+ Great interface - easy to enter addresses. Again, I have used MANY GPS units and this is by far the best for the non-tech savvy.

+ Lane assist features works great - I didn't realize how handy this was until I used it.

+ Nice bright screen - that self adjusts depending on the time of day... i.e it changes contrast when it becomes night in order to cutdown on extra light generated.

+ Text-to-Speech works well - roads were announced well in advance and usually with something that was close to the real pronunciation.

+ Finds the satellite signal rather quickly.

+ As someone else mentioned it updates the speed-limits almost the instant you pass the sign.

Areas for Improvement.

- It did give me a couple of odd-ball suggestions as routes...taking me off the and onto state highways (and red lights). At times the routes would add mlles and at times it would reduce it by a few tenths...

Final Verdict - This is the best GPS I have ever used - buy with confidence!

Great review, I just drove down from the redwoods with my cousin and we used her Garmin. It was incredibly helpful and we enjoyed the feature that lets you find local places to dine, giving you step-by-step vocal directions to the location. Thanks for sharing :)
