AdSense is an advertisement application run by Google. Website owners can enroll in this program to enable text, image, and more recently, video advertisements on their websites. These advertisements are administered by Google and generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis. Google is also currently beta-testing a cost-per-action based service.
I have had Google AdSense on most of my websites for about two years now and I couldn't be happier. I don't make a ton of money using the service but it's something and it makes writing the articles I do that much more rewarding. Of course I want to create great content, but knowing how the keywords and topics that will get views is a must and using AdSense teaches you that. I will be getting my first check from Google Adsense in a few weeks, and I have to say I'm thrilled.
