Twelve "stories without words," performed on solo piano by Neil Patton. These compositions defy the conventional "New Age" categorization usually assigned to modern solo piano music, taking the listener on several different journeys of high emotion, meditation, mourning, celebration, fear and triumph. No part of the dynamic range of the piano is left unexplored, allowing the full expression of this instrument to shine.

Neil Patton is a pianist, keyboardist, singer, composer and teacher living in Eugene, Oregon. Hammer & Wire is his second collection of solo piano music, following his 2007 release, Impromptu. He is a featured artist on the Whisperings Solo Piano Radio broadcast, and performs regularly alone and with other artists. He is also an in-demand piano instructor, both privately and through New Hope Christian College in Eugene.
