Do Not Look for Quality This Product Will Not Be Dissatisfied.

Pros: This will help you spend some quality time with your daughter.

Cons: Very cheaply made.

The Bottom Line: Your child might lose interest in this before this wears out, so you will not have to worry about the durability.

Does your daughter follow you around the house on your days off like a little puppy dog? Is she always trying to be that little helper? Well, if you have the same problem as we do in our house, it may be time for a little distraction and that might be what the doctor ordered. My wife and I do not have the room to purchase this little rose petal cottage kitchen set. So we did the next best thing, we happen to find this baking set at Toys “R” Us for right around seven bucks. Now that our daughter has this she can follow my wife around in the kitchen cooking and pretend to cook with her or she can follow me around in my dog grooming shop using the apron, while she helps me to do some dog grooming. But, do not expect something really fancy and tough for only seven dollars.

Inside of this baking set you will receive seven pieces and these will include a very cheap thin purple mixing bowl and a wooden spoon, which you can find in any kitchen. This will also have a cupcake tin, which is supposed to hold six cupcakes, but they only give you two fabric muffins in which the dog and cat keep on stealing and trying to eat and play with. We have found that these fabric muffins will not stay inside of the tin. So we have attached some Velcro strips to the bottoms of these fabric muffins and installed the other half of Velcro to the inside of the muffin tin, this helps immensely when she is doing pretend baking. Everything in this set is very realistic looking, but it is not made to last very long, the apron has a solid loop string that will slide over the child’s head, and to waist ties hanging down from each side of the apron. The oven mitt that comes with this matches the pocket of the apron and is made up of a very thin material, as well as the apron.

I guess the main feature about this set would do a lot better if my daughter had the actual Hasbro rose petal cottage kitchenette set. But, that is not the case here she just has to pretend with the stove and oven that we have. She does pretty well without any stove at all, she will sit down at the kitchen table and take her doll and spend hours playing with her and pretending to cook cupcakes for her baby. She also has a lot of fun with me in my shop when I groomed dogs. As soon as she finds out that I have a dog coming, she runs to get her apron and pretends to be my assistant. She will stand there and as soon as one clump of hair lands on the table she will grab it and throw it in the trash or she will stand there with the wet vac at the ready to suck up any large clumps of hair that may accumulate on the floor.

Waste of Money or Not
A big question on everyone’s mind, when you purchase something made as cheaply as this is whether or not it is a waste of money. I guess that depends on how much her daughter will use this. In my case, she uses it quite a bit and lets her imagination run wild. But, as far as the quality of the merchandise it is definitely not worth the money. When you purchase something like this is best not to look too much into the quality, because what happens more often than not, is the fact that your daughter will get tired of using it and it will end up in that circular filing cabinet in the corner of the room, and it will find its way out to the big blue trash bin in the sky.

A couple of notes, if your daughter plans on using this apron for more than just pretend baking then I would say it is worth the money that you paid for it. My daughter can use the fabric muffins as play toys for the dogs and cats. As long as you have a daughter with a very vivid imagination you will not need any kitchenette set to make this worth your while. You will put a smile on your daughter’s face when you allow her to help out in the kitchen or in your shop. Plus, remember, your daughter will not always have that smile on her face so, that smile you do see is priceless.
