Drugstore price...boutique quality

L'Oreal Bare Naturale mineral makeup is a first class, drugstore cosmetic line!

I have always been a fan of the L'Oreal Group...mainly because they produce the super expensive and sought after beauty lines of: Lancome, Kerastase, Redkin, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, and many others. Thus I decided to give their drugstore line a whirl.

L'Oreal Bare Naturale is a great mineral makeup /foundation product.  For those of you who haven't used mineral makeup before...try it!  The makeup itself is made of up zinc, talc, and other minerals and still provides you a full coverage foundation. The makeup is dry and is applied via brush (attached to the bottle) in powder form. It creates a veil-like cover to your face that hides the flaws yet doesn't leave you looking cakey or painted. *Note - don't put on too many layers of mineral makeup because you will end up looking cakey and flaky. not cute.

Mineral makeup is supposed to be better for your skin because it is made of all natural products and doesn't clog your pores. It also has a natural SPF of 19 (random #...but better than nothing). You can apply one coat of the powder for minimal coverage...or continue with several coats for more coverage.

Also, the makeup gives you a fresh glow that liquid foundation does not. It allows light to reflect off your face without an artificial glitter in the product itself (no one wants to look like tinker bell).

For $15 (or less depending on drugstore), this is a really great product for a relatively low price. Lastly, the bottle or powder typically lasts about 30 days (again depending on usage).

I've been wanting to try mineral make-up as well because I haven't liked how liquid foundations wear off or don't seem to cover the area adequately. Thanks for this review- I'll have to check out L'Oreal!

$15 is a good deal!! Have you tried Bare Esentuals? How does this compare?

@devora Mineral makeup is 100% worth a try! I swear by it :) Also, I did notice that in France L'Oreal is more expensive and has a high end brand value. The French certainly know their beauty products!!

I've been wanting to try mineral makeup ever since I found out about them through those infomercials, and $15 is considerably less than I've seen them for, so this looks like it's worth trying!

On a side note, do you know that L'Oreal isn't sold in drug stores in France, but actually at higher end places like Sephora?  I was surprised to see L'Oreal at Sephora, but apparently the French have higher regard for it than Americans do.
