Your Pets Don't Have To Eat Like Animals Anymore.

Pros: Will take care of your pets while you are away.

Cons: This is a little bit on the expensive side but it'll do a good job.

The Bottom Line: You will have no more worries about your pets getting the right amount of food.

If your pet likes to keep eating and hide their food in the couch cushions, then this product will be the one to help you out. I used to own the manually operated one where you would have to use your hand to shovel the food into the bowl in order to keep it filled. Plus after we had filled the bowl our German Shepard would politely use her paw and swat at the food in the bowl knocking it all over the floor. She does this every time that we fill the bowl and then the other two little miniature Schnauzers run in and act like they are stealing their own food. This scene happens daily three times a day and it is hilarious to watch them. You can find these at Petco, I purchased the large one but they do have a small and medium one to sell to you. The large one will cost you anywhere from $130.00 to $140.00 depending which pet supply store that you find this at.

This particular feeder is mostly for your pets over 25 pounds and you can set the timer to produce food for you pet at regular intervals while you are not at home. This has a digital timer that has a battery back up and will allow you to feed your pets up to eight times a day and it will hold pieces of food up to 7/8” in diameter. The large plastic holding container on top will hold up to twenty pounds of food to be dispersed, minimum of ½ a cup of food at the times of your choosing. This also has a manual override switch which will allow you to change the times if needed instead of following what you have already programmed into the feeders mind. You can set this to only release small quantities of food at a time as small as a few small bites up to a whole bowl full, you can do this for a day, a week, or a whole year at a time. You will have to locate this near an outlet because it works mainly off of 110 volt power and the cord is protected by a flexible stainless steel tube sheath to prevent your pets from chewing on this and getting electrocuted.

The bowl can be removed to be cleaned and it is okay to put inside of the dishwasher, you do not have to have the container on top emptied to remove the bowl. This will slowly dispense the food to stop your pets from gobbling up the food too fast. This will make a little bit of noise while it is filling the bowl other than that it is very quiet.

The really nice option that this has is that this will come already put together and all you have to do is fill it up with food and plug it in. We have been using this for over two years and have found that it makes our life a lot less complicated. When ever we want to go away for the weekend we have found that this makes it a lot easier for our dog sitter and a lot less instructions for them. All they do now is come over and let them out and make sure that they have fresh water. This whole unit only weighs about five pounds when empty. We do not have any cats, but we have found this to be very helpful with our three dogs. They take turns eating as the food comes out and some times they want to just sit and hover over the bowl. They are resilient when it comes to changing they way that they eat. It was very easy to learn to use this, once we set it we did not have to change it again.

I highly recommend giving this a try because this will help if you are having trouble with putting your pet on a schedule. This way, they will be forced to learn to eat at regularly scheduled times. This will also put your mind at ease so as to make sure that your pets are getting fed while you are away or just at work for the day. I have experienced nothing but happiness with this feeder. Five stars for this one.
