Stan Goldberg Makes LEANING INTO SHARP POINTS Easier To Bear and Understand

When you are dealing with a situation that you have no control over you can either choose to throw up your hands and admit defeat or find a way to bring some kind of peace to the situation. When caring for someone who is either in their darkest chapter of life or their last days, Stan Goldberg shows us through his book LEANING INTO SHARP POINTS how we can not only be there but make the time really matter.
I appreciated this book mainly because it came from someone who personally knows what he's talking about and has been in a place of feeling helpless but also realizing the importance of being there for others. Goldberg draws on his own experiences as a caregiver to show what is possible and how we can look at this not just as something to do but something we feel privileged to be a part of.
No one really wants to be alone, especially when everything seems to be slipping away. Goldberg reminds us that we have to be able to go beyond what might be said or done to the heart of the individual, letting them know that you are giving more than just time. You were giving them you.
There's nothing like being able to feel as though you have given your best, and for me I took from the book that the way to do this is to understand what it means to be present for the one in need of care as well as yourself, as well as bringing the best of yourself to each and every opportunity.
Written with the inner person in mind. LEANING INTO SHARP POINTS makes the journey easier to bear and understand.
