Great Size but I'm having a problem with accuracy

The Lifesource Tri-axial pedometer is meant to go head-to-head with Omron HJ-303 GoSmart Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer. They both feature small size, Tri-axis motion detection, lanyard, clock, calorie counter, etc. They are both similarly priced and as far as I can discern the big difference in functionality is that the Lifesource keeps 14 days worth of activity available on the screen, versus 7.

The bigger competition I think would be Omron's HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer with Advanced Omron Health Management Software. While the Omron only displays 7 days it retains 42 days worth of info in memory. Plus it makes a distinction between general everyday steps, and what it calls 'Aerobic' steps. The latter are steps that occur at a quicker pace for at least 10 continuous minutes. I can see where some people might find that useful as we are supposed to get at least 20 minutes of 'aerobic' exercise per day.

The Omron also has some kind of pc connection ability that lets you display data on your computer. I'm not sure if this is a nifty feature or not but if I was looking to buy a pedometer I would definitely consider this model as an alternative, particularly given the problem I am currently having with accuracy of my Lifesource unit.

Initially the Lifesource pedometer seemed to be working fine. It was registering steps on both on the flat and on stairs well. Then it seemed to loose it's grip. I recalibrated and all was fine. Now again it is recording double steps, or at least not recording the same number of steps I'm counting.
