Silver Surfer is not one of my favorite comic book heroes. Like many characters in the Marvel universe, Silver Surfer has a long, complicated, and detailed backstory that non-comic book readers find quite confusing. However, he does have some interesting traits, e.g. he literally surfs through the stars. Anyway, this action figure of Silver Surfer from Toy Biz is a fairly articulated miniature. He can be made to take many different poses and the joints don't loosen up as bad as Toy Biz figures tend to do. He's not incredibly durable, but is just as durable as the average action figure. The figure includes a wall mounting prop, his famous silver surf board, and a SILVER SURFER comic book. However, the only reason I picked up this figure was because it includes a Howard the Duck action figure. I've only seen a couple issues of the HOWARD THE DUCK comic book, but it was one of the more original comics I have seen written in recent memory. Then George Lucas came along, made the lame attempt at a movie based on the comic, and everything associated with Howard (including the comic) became almost obsolete. However, I'm glad to see that the comic book folks are getting their act together again and are slowly bringing the duck back. Maybe someday Howard will get his due. Anyway, even if you aren't that big a fan of the Silver Surfer, this action figure is worth buying just for the Howard the Duck figure that is included with it.
