I don't tend to be a harsh reviewer, but there are times when a book just doesn't appeal to me. This is one of those times. Perhaps it's my age, but I just couldn't get into this book at all.
I realize that the author was trying to emulate Hunter S. Thompson and his style of "Gonzo" journalism, but I'm not sure that he pulled it off. The whole thing seemed such a mishmash, with sentences not making sense, and in general wandering all over the place.
Perhaps there are readers who like this type of writing, but I certainly did not.
