I love cereal--I mean, I can't believe I am saying this, but I actually love breakfast cereals more as an adult than when I was a kid. Sometimes, I have cereal for dinner when I am not feeling too hungry. I am more of a "Special K" kind of dude just to let you know and I am really not into all the "organic food" hoopla that has been making waves in the media for the past few years.
Took a chance and got a new cereal that is "gluten-free" (whatever that meant) and is `USDA organic'. Again, I eat what I eat because I want to, and I try to maintain a balanced diet. I am not all into this obsessive healthy diet, but I have to admit I was very impressed with Nature's Path "Crunchy Vanilla Sunrise".
I don't know how to start a review on cereal. Well, this stuff tastes really good and is lightly sweet (but it leaves a sweeter after taste). You can really taste the natural flavors around it. The corn, rice, flax, quinoa, buckwheat and amaranth are all blended together pretty well and the flavors do go well with each other. It has that `crunch' that I usually go for and while I don't have a kid, I can say that maybe a kid will like this cereal. I even topped it with some blueberries and bananas at times, and boy, it tastes even better. Also, one thing I look for is the fact that it does not get soggy for awhile after being immersed in milk. It kept its crunchy texture (but smooth) while I was eating it. One complaint, the vanilla taste is a little subtle, and I could taste more honey in it.
Now keep in mind, I only had one bowl of this cereal to do this review, so just how I'll feel about it after repeat servings, is yet to be told. I cannot say anything about its "repeat servings" as of yet.
Very impressed with this product and I think I may just have to use this as a snack even without milk. It is good....like what I like with my cereals. It is a little pricey at $ 10 a box, but hey, it is one of great quality. It is up to you if a cereal for $ 10 is worth it.
